Composition of our Humate

The composition of humate varies by region. Studies on humate show there is significant variation of the humic content depending on the region from which it was obtained. There is a strong need to ensure quality control of humate in order to achieve consistent composition and predictable results for the plants.

New Mexico humate has various components giving it superior quality.

In general, the principal components of humate in decreasing order are as follows:

  • Humates – 30-40 percent
  • Organic matter – 50-80 percent
  • Carbon – 25-35 percent

The range for these chemicals varies and is dependent upon the geographic origin area.
